The Why of “For Fox’s Sake”

HELLO!

I am Andrea, a lifelong creative mind and someone whom has always loved foxes!

I’ve always been drawn to them.

From the moment I first saw one illustrated in a childhood book, I knew they were different: quietly captivating, full of character, and impossible to forget.

That feeling stayed with me over the years, resurfacing now and then through a glimpse on screen or online, but always just out of reach.

I had never encountered one in real life.

That changed this year (2026).

After a challenging start to the year, with health issues and a 10 week hospital stay, a shift in perspective made it clear there’s no time to leave things undone, so I decided to stop wishing and start doing.

Not far from home, I discovered the Screech Owl Sanctuary offered fox experiences, and booked without hesitation.

That’s where I met Poppy.

She was extraordinary. Gentle, curious, and full of quiet resilience. As I fed her, guided by her handler, there was a moment of connection each time she looked up, expectant and trusting and that stayed with me long after I left. There was warmth, a sense of presence, and something deeper I hadn’t quite found before.

That experience sparked something.

Later, I went looking for a simple fox-themed piece: a baseball cap…but what I found didn’t reflect the feeling I had experienced.

It lacked character, intention, and originality.

So I created my own.

And then it grew.

What started as a single idea became something more: a collection of original fox-inspired artwork, thoughtfully translated into pieces you can wear, use, and live with, such as caps, apparel, gifts, and artwork designed with care and a clear point of view.

For Fox’s Sake was born from that moment of connection; an appreciation for these remarkable animals, and a desire to create something that reflects their spirit with honesty and style.

If you feel even a fraction of that same pull towards foxes, you’re in the right place.
